Tami Erwin is executive vice president and CEO of Verizon Business Group. She is widely recognized for her strategic impact, marketing and operations focus, technical savvy, and passion for people. As CEO of Verizon Business Group, a $30B+ business with over 26,000 employees that would be among the Fortune 30 if it was a separate entity, she and her teams deliver mission critical solutions to businesses worldwide and operates America’s most reliable wireless network and premier all-fiber network. Tami helps businesses, government, and communities connect to the global economy with intelligent edge solutions and prepare for digital transformation, innovation, and accelerated growth in the 5G era.

Throughout her Verizon career, Tami has earned a reputation for building a world-class culture of customer-centricity and business performance. Prior to being named CEO of Verizon Business Group, Tami played a crucial role in the evolution and growth of Verizon’s wireline and wireless business segments. She was the head of operations for Verizon Wireless, and led Verizon Fios, the nation’s largest residential and commercial fiber network. In those roles, she guided the growth of the company’s principal networks to record levels, delivering industry-leading experiences to consumer and business customers.

Tami is a brand builder known for competitive turnarounds and market-moving strategies. Earlier in her career, she was Chief Marketing Officer of Verizon Wireless. In that role, she launched the industry-shaping “Share Everything” pricing program, driving significant growth, and initiated a company-wide branding and culture transformation with the ultimate goal of positioning Verizon as a global leader in communications, entertainment and technology.

Corporate and charitable leadership

Tami leads by example in advocating for women, social fairness and equal opportunity. She is passionate about technology’s role in improving the ways that people live, learn, work and play. Tami is a champion of development and engagement programs for women in business and investment in STEM programs for students. Tami was the executive sponsor of Women of Wireless, the employee development program that due to its success, broadened into the global Women of the World initiative. The seven-month program inspires and advances Verizon’s future female leaders by developing self-leadership, effective communication, critical thinking, career ownership, and personal brand.

As the executive sponsor of Verizon’s Veterans employee resource group, Tami provides strategic oversight of the programs and resources the company provides to its more than 10,000 veterans, active reservists and military families. She champions Verizon's employee engagement with the military community through volunteerism partnerships like the Wounded Warrior Project, Carry the Load, Operation Gratitude, and the Medal of Honor Society. Tami is also active in Verizon’s Leadership Excellence Advancement Program and serves on the Paley Media Center Board of Trustees and the board of the Verizon Foundation. In addition, she is honored to have served as the vice chairman of Chrysalis in Phoenix and vice chair of CommNexus in San Diego.

Personal and educational background

Tami is a graduate of the Executive Program at the Stanford University Graduate School of Business, and attended Pacific Union College, majoring in Business Administration. Originally from Seattle, Washington, Tami and her husband Darrell have two adult children and now call New Jersey home.
